Our principal, Ms. Anupama Sethi kicked off her speech with this particular quote for our Investiture Ceremony 2019-20. It is an event where New Horizon’s student council is appointed and badged. It’s a great day of pride for the council, their families and even the entire school. They are meant to lead, to motivate, to make people and also the school better and disciplined. It is quite a responsibility, but the members selected are definitely worthy of carrying it. The event began with a speech from Nikita Patwardhan and Pranav Govil. They introduced the choir, who sang a prayer. Afterwards, the audience was asked to sit down and watch as the school captains, vice captains and sports captains were badged. The event progressed in an orderly fashion, no one missing a beat. Soon, the house captains and vice captains of each house were badged and given their flags as the students sang the house songs. Smriti Banala, the school captain also gave a speech where she outlined that the council helps keep things in order, keep the school disciplined and alert at all times.
Following her speech was our very own principal who thanked everyone responsible for making the event a success. She thanked the newly appointed council, the former council, the teachers, the chairman, the students and the choir. The event was impeccably performed, and everything went smoothly.
