Dear students and parents / Guardians of New Horizon Public School.

2020 will be a year to remember as much as we may prefer otherwise. Here we are looking back at the remarkable achievement; none of which were planned in the manner they were executed or accomplished.

We began this year with clearly laid out big plans, but we were tossed into situations that none of us anticipated. But we soon rolled up our sleeves to meet the urgent needs with our spectacular team of teachers and admin staff members. Everyone worked tirelessly to learn, adapt and accomplish things in the challenging times. So many spent countless hours during their holiday preparing videos and resources so the students could benefit. Their commitment to their classes remains as strong as ever.

While the lockdowns got extended, we continued to engage our students in day to day activities and perhaps there was never a day at NHPS this year with no excitement at all. From Magnificent Monday to Fun Friday, from ‘Spring Galore’ to Virtual Sports Day and Graduation day, all activities were well executed. ‘Kalasmriti’, our first ever virtual cultural extravaganza was a major success as more than 20 schools participated in plethora of competitions.

Our level of expectations and high standards always demanded to continue to monitor such things as student engagement and participation levels, different ways to assess if learning had happened, holding students to proper school value system at all times and making sure virtual learning is equitable to all of our students.

2020-21 has been an interesting year for sure with the design of new protocols for scenarios we had never encountered even though NHPS can proudly lay claim to those 5 decades of school and student experiences, situations and settings.  What has not changed is the responsibility we hold dear to our hearts and actions to nurture tomorrow’s leaders – for a tomorrow that still none of us can really define.

Change is constant in our lives. There is always a force behind us that moves us forward, pushing our students to be more engaged, our teachers to consistently strive for maximum productivity and learning. The unceasing efforts to make our path smooth going forward and continue to guide us – teachers, parents, students, administration, volunteers, thank you for the most rewarding and dynamic school experience!
