Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conducted annually.
This program consists of three rounds – school level, state level and national level. Apart from MCQs on the general maths and science syllabus of the student’s respective class in all the rounds, the city level exam included an MCQ test on Indian Contributions to Science, and the state and national level exams had MCQs on a given topic (Oceanography for classes 6-8 and Atomic Energy for classes 9-12). The national level exam had a 10-minute interview round for each student as well.
In the final round, prizes were given to both zonal and national winners.
Ankita Vakde of class 9D secured the third rank in the national division of VVM 2020-21. She also received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for the same.
