“Adi Dev Mahadev’’ was a memorable musical dance extravaganza that will be etched in our hearts forever. Our Annual Day, held on the 28th of January, 2023, was one of the most exquisite shows of the year.
Our Chairman, Dr Mohan Manghnani and Vice Chairperson, Mrs Renuka Manghnani, graced the occasion with their presence. We were fortunate to have with us that evening our Chief guest, Ms Payal Nanjiani, an Indian American leader, executive coach and renowned author. At 6:00 p.m., the show began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and a Divine invocation as a symbol of auspiciousness.
The entire show consisted of ten sequences that highlighted Lord Shiva’s glory and conveyed the message that ardent devotion to Him would never go unrewarded. The play revolved around the life of Lord Shiva’s young devotee, Markandeya, whose father, Mrikandu, narrated several instances where Shiva, the Lord of Destruction himself, was the most compassionate protector of His devotees.
The play started with an ethereal dance introducing Lord Shiva, a powerful divine being who saved His devotees by consuming the poison in the famous incident of ‘poisoning of the ocean.’ The enchanting dance of the Gods of Love – Rati and Manmata, mesmerised the audience. One of the key highlights of the show included the sequence in which Veerabhadra, sent by the Lord, punished Daksha, responsible for Sati’s sacrifice. The last electrifying performance depicted the supreme power of Lord Shiva in his final triumphant battle against Yama, the God of Death.
All in all, the show included breathtaking performances by the students of grades six to ten. It would have been impossible to put together such a grand show without the excellent choreography and production team, enthusiastic teachers and support staff. Portraying the glory of the divine Lord, “Adi Dev Mahadev,” was a spectacular way to wrap up this remarkable year
