On January 12, 2023, New Horizon Public School commemorated the spiritual master Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. Dr Manish Mokshagundam (Natha Rishi Guru) and Maa Moe from Ramakrishna Mutt graced the occasion with their presence. The students of grades 7 and 8 attended the enlightening session.
Guruji addressed the students with his words of wisdom and spoke about the exemplary life of Swami Vivekananda. The audience reflected on the meaning of true contentment and the value of helpfulness. Guruji’s jovial demeanour captivated the students. He highlighted the importance of dharma and ways to make it a way of life. Guruji also provided insight into the propagation of culture and the necessity to keep it alive.
Forests sustain life on earth and need to be conserved. Maa Moe, the second speaker of the day, spoke on the importance of forests and the positive impact of small steps taken by individuals.
The session ended with a bhajan, meditation for a few minutes and the chanting of OM to tap the inner soul. The session helped develop a deep insight into values, awareness of our way of living and practical measures that could bring about a significant change in the world.
