The Sanskrit verse – ‘Mata Pitah Guru Daivam’ clearly positions the role of a teacher before that of God. A guru is someone more than a teacher; the word literally means the one who dispels darkness or the one who frees us from ignorance. Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima is a day to pay ode to the selfless contributions of a guru. The 24th of July 2021 was earmarked for the occasion by our dear students, who lovingly paid tribute to their gurus in their own special way. Nirav S. from LKG B paid obeisance to his gurus through a beautiful shloka. ‘Guru Vandana’ by our young and talented dancer, Arshia Shivkumar from 3E, was simply enchanting. The guru-shishya bond is seen as a pure connection that helps the student achieve greater heights. This was highlighted by Smiti Achliya from 10D, through her expression of admiration and gratitude for her teachers. We also had Mrs. Harini Srikanth, parent of Atharv Srikanth (UKG E), who shared her sentiments and lauded the teachers for their efforts. The dedication was shared on the Edumerge portal for viewing.
