Human Rights Day

“Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being’s entitlement by virtue of his humanity.”  – Mother Teresa

Human Rights Day is observed every year on the 10th of December to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The UDHR is a milestone document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being-regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, language, birth or other status.

On 10th December, 2021 the students of NHPS under the guidance of their teachers, organized an informative and enthralling event to celebrate Human Rights Day. The event commenced with a speech given by the school Vice-Captain, Atulit Subramanian, who emphasized on the importance of this day. The speech was followed by three skits performed by the students of grades 6 to 9, each highlighting the significance of Right to Education, Right to Life and Right Against Exploitation.

The event, which turned out to be a huge success, helped us all realize the gravitas of the basic human rights.

    Respected Madam,

I am writing this e-mail with immense happiness and gratitude. To see Niharica improve slowly and steadily has given me a lot of confidence that she will do well in her academics even in her higher classes. She now reads very well and independently. She also remembers things better. Her writing has improved as well.

I would like to thank you mam for your patience, understanding and encouragement. I would also thank the school management for having such a set up where the kids can be given special attention to improve in the areas that they are weak in.

Mam, I am sure that with your guidance Niharica will have a wholesome growth. Thank you once again.

    Yours sincerely,
    Malathy
