Every year, Sports Day, a much-awaited event, is conducted at the New Horizon College of Engineering. The venue of the Sports-It-Up event was our quadrangle.
The three events of the day were – DODGE BALL, TUG-OF-WAR and RELAY. Students belonging to the four different Houses – Apollo, Zeus, Hercules and Venus, competed for extra points to win the prized Trophy.
The first event of the day was DODGE BALL. The participants had quite a fun time, jumping if the ball came too close to their knees while others cheered their fellow players. The students participated enthusiastically in the ‘TUG OF WAR’; students and teachers cheered their respective Houses. The last event of the day was the RELAY that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The whistle sounded, and a runner from each House bounded forward, touched the cone, ran back to the starting line to give way to the next runner.
Before the finale, there was a TUG-OF-WAR for teachers amidst the loud, excited cheers of the students. Our School Coordinator, Ms Richa Bhatia, announced the results, and the captains of the winning House came forward to collect their well-deserved Trophy. Certificates were awarded to each participant by our Principal, Ms Anupama Sethi.
The Sports-It-Up event was possible because of the tireless efforts of the Sports department, teachers and participants. It was a memorable Sports Day for all.
