‘Community Helpers’ are people who work together to make the community a better place for everyone. Students of Grade 3 decided to take a step further towards their understanding of the topic “People who help us.”
As part of their SST and Life Skills sessions, they made some lovely “Thank you” cards for the support staff and they did it with a lot of love and sincerity. It was heart-warming to see the smiles on the faces of all the staff when they unexpectedly received these cards. We believe that seeds of compassion for fellow human beings must be sown in the minds of our little children at a very young age. The concepts of ‘Dignity of Labour’ and ‘Equal respect for all’ were very beautifully integrated in this activity, where both the children and the staff were equally happy and excited and we hope it remains a life lesson for the students.
