Values Plus classes are conducted by ISKCON (International Society For Krishna Consciousness) in our school. Experienced professionals conduct these classes which have been well received by the children and parents alike. We have witnessed a tremendous change in the value system of our students which has led to a positive outlook.
In this day and age of increasing competition, peer pressure and many strong influences including the print media, internet and television, our children are subjected to a lot of information, views and opinions that are at times variegated in nature.
They tend to influence the child’s psyche and character to a considerable degree. We see this influence in our homes and classrooms regularly, in the demeanor of our children and how they interact in society.
There was a need to reinforce the value system of our children on a sustained basis. So we decided to build a value-system that ensures children transform into responsible, mature, well-informed and well-rounded citizens of tomorrow.
Practical Implementation
- Value-Based Education: Integrate moral stories from Hindu epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata into lessons to illustrate ethical dilemmas and their resolutions.
- Yoga and Meditation: Regular practice of yoga and meditation helps students develop self-awareness, discipline, and inner peace.
- Celebrating Festivals: Observing Hindu festivals like Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, and Navratri can teach cultural significance and moral lessons.
- Community Engagement: Organize service activities like tree planting, food distribution, or visiting care homes to imbibe the spirit of seva.
- Moral Assemblies: Conduct morning assemblies with shlokas, prayers, and discussions on ethical themes to set a positive tone for the day.
