Math Enrichment Workshop for Primary Teachers

The primary teachers attended an enriching workshop conducted by the Ramanujan Museum and Math Education Center, facilitated by Mr. A.T.B. Bose. The session highlighted the use of manipulatives to strengthen conceptual understanding in topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and measurement.

Through hands-on demonstrations, teachers learned effective strategies like the lattice method and creative approaches to explain place value, regrouping, area, and perimeter. The workshop was highly interactive and provided practical techniques that can be easily integrated into the classroom to make mathematics clear, engaging, and meaningful for young learners.

The session also encouraged collaborative problem-solving, allowing teachers to explore multiple ways of presenting the same concept. By experiencing the learning process from a student’s perspective, educators gained deeper insight into making mathematical concepts enjoyable and stress-free. The workshop concluded with positive feedback, leaving teachers inspired to apply these innovative methods in their daily teaching.
