The essence of Diwali lies in the sloka, “Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya” meaning “Lead me from darkness to light”. The ‘Festivals of Lights’ was celebrated with gusto at the New Horizon Public School on November 2, 2021. The Chief Guests of the day were HonourableChairman, NHEI, Dr Mohan Manghnani, MrsRenukaManghnani, Vice-Chairperson, NHEI, and family members.
The School was spectacularly decorated with lights and flowers on the occasion. The Programme began with the traditional ‘Lighting of the lamp’ ceremony by the Chief Guest and Principal. After a melodious Invocation Song by the School Choir, the Programme began with a ‘Welcome Speech’ by our Principal, MrsAnupamaSethi. The MCs of the day were Vaideek, Diya, Nischitha and Harsh. The mesmerising dance performances by our students in vibrant costumes enthralled the audience. Jyotirmay – A Thematic Dance Performance on the religious significance of the celebration of Diwali by the students of NHC-K & NHPUC added to the festive spirit of the evening.
Prizes were awarded to the winners of the different Competitions by Dr Mohan Manghnani, Mr Surya Bajaj and MsSargam Manghnani, Director, NHG. The scrumptious food was relished by all. It was a memorable evening with bright smiles as friends caught up with each other after months. The splendid display of fireworks heralding the festival awed the audience and lit up the skies. Let us light the lamp of knowledge, truth and happiness as we celebrate this Diwali.
