Celebrating International Yoga Day

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
Originating in India, yoga is an ancient practice that is now embraced worldwide for its transformative benefits. At New Horizon Public School, we celebrated International Yoga Day on 20th June 2025 with great enthusiasm, bringing together students across all grades in a spirit of wellness, balance, and mindfulness.
The day was filled with engaging, meaningful activities that promoted holistic health and encouraged our learners to embrace yoga as a way of life.
Highlights of the Day
🌿 Mass Yoga Session: Students from Grades 4 and above gathered in the school quadrangle for a vibrant mass yoga session, practicing asanas in unison and experiencing the calm and focus that yoga fosters.
🌿 Dance with Asanas: A graceful performance by our students beautifully blended dance with yoga postures, symbolizing harmony between movement and mindfulness.
🌿 Shloka Chanting: The atmosphere was filled with serenity as students chanted shlokas, enhancing the spiritual essence of the day.
🌿 Pre-Primary Yoga: Our tiniest learners had a joyful session led by an esteemed parent volunteer, who introduced simple and fun asanas to promote well-being in a playful, engaging manner.
🌿 Yoga Awareness Presentation: A short, interactive presentation helped students understand the significance of yoga and how International Yoga Day was initiated by our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, inspiring the world to adopt yoga for a healthier life.
🌿 Primary Yoga Sessions: Primary students learned basic postures and breathing techniques in enjoyable, age-appropriate sessions led by their teachers.
🌿 Quiz Competition: A fun and educational quiz for Grades 3 and 4 deepened students’ knowledge about yoga’s history and benefits.
🌿 Activity Sheets: Grades 1 and 2 completed creative, yoga-themed activity sheets that combined learning with art and fun.
This celebration beautifully introduced our young learners to the lifelong benefits of yoga, inspiring them to embrace wellness from an early age. With yoga in the air, joy in every heart, and a sense of calm across the school, it was truly a day well spent. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our students, teachers, and supportive parents for making this day so special.
