Youth Seva: A Life Lesson in Compassion and Community Service

Posted on July 17, 2025 | SUPW Activities

“The purpose of life is to serve, to show compassion, and to help others.”
Rooted in this philosophy, New Horizon Public School continues to nurture empathy, kindness, and social responsibility in its students. As part of the SUPW curriculum, students of Grade 10 participated in the Youth Seva initiative, visiting Karnataka Public School, Banaswadi.
Our students spent a meaningful day engaging with children from Grades I to VIII through storytelling, art and craft, outdoor games, and interactive learning activities. The school campus echoed with laughter, creativity, and the joy of shared experiences.
From sharing meals and stationery to heartfelt conversations, this visit was not just an act of giving — it was an unforgettable exchange of love, warmth, and perspective. Students returned with a deeper understanding of life’s simple joys and the profound happiness that comes from making a difference.
Youth Seva wasn’t just a visit — it was a life lesson in humanity.

“The purpose of life is to serve, to show compassion, and to help others.”

At New Horizon Public School, we believe that education must go beyond academics — it must build character. Through our SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work) curriculum, we provide students with real-world exposure to empathy and social responsibility.

What is Youth Seva?

Youth Seva is more than a program; it’s an experience that opens young hearts to the power of giving. Recently, our Grade 10 students participated in this initiative by visiting Karnataka Public School, Banaswadi.

A Meaningful Day at Karnataka Public School, Banaswadi

Our students spent a day filled with joy and learning alongside children from Grades I to VIII. They engaged in storytelling sessions, art and craft activities, outdoor games, and interactive learning modules. The school echoed with laughter, creativity, and the spirit of unity.

Sharing, Smiles, and Service

Students brought along essential stationery, snacks, and supplies — but the most valuable gift was their time and presence. Through heartfelt conversations, laughter, and shared creativity, they created memories and connections that will last a lifetime.

What Students Learned

As they returned to campus, students carried with them a renewed sense of purpose. They experienced the joy of giving and gained a deeper understanding of life’s simple pleasures. Youth Seva wasn’t just an activity; it was a life lesson in compassion, perspective, and humanity.

Building Responsible Citizens

This initiative reflects the core values of New Horizon Public School — nurturing not just intellect, but humanity. Through programs like Youth Seva, we aim to raise socially conscious individuals ready to make a meaningful impact on the world.
