Model United Nations
The Model United Nations (MUN) Club of New Horizon Public School was established on 6 August 2025 with the vision of fostering global awareness, diplomatic thinking, leadership, and effective communication among students. Since its inception, the club has served as a dynamic platform for intellectual engagement, encouraging students to explore international affairs, understand diverse perspectives, and develop innovative solutions to contemporary global challenges. The club is committed to nurturing informed, responsible, and compassionate global citizens who possess the knowledge, leadership qualities, and diplomatic skills required to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The club provides students with opportunities to step into the roles of diplomats, policymakers, and global leaders through simulated United Nations conferences and committee sessions. Through rigorous research, constructive debate, negotiation, and resolution drafting, members develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, policy research, public speaking, negotiation, teamwork, and consensus-building skills. These experiences enable students to strengthen their leadership abilities while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations, governance, and global diplomacy.
Beyond academic enrichment, the MUN Club promotes the values of empathy, collaboration, cultural understanding, ethical leadership, mutual respect, and international cooperation. It inspires students to approach complex global issues with confidence, integrity, and an open mind while encouraging meaningful dialogue and informed decision-making. By engaging with diverse perspectives and working collaboratively to resolve global challenges, students cultivate the qualities necessary to become responsible leaders and active contributors to society.
The establishment of the MUN Club marks a significant milestone in New Horizon Public School's commitment to holistic education and the development of future-ready learners. The club serves as a nurturing platform where students acquire the knowledge, confidence, and mindset required to excel in academics, leadership, and civic engagement. Through experiential learning and active participation, members are encouraged to become articulate communicators, thoughtful negotiators, and socially responsible individuals capable of making a positive impact in an interconnected world.
As part of its commitment to excellence in diplomacy and debate, the club proudly hosts the 8th Edition of the New Horizon Model United Nations (NHMUN) in August. Through its year-round initiatives and its flagship conference, the Model United Nations Club continues to uphold its mission of empowering students to become articulate communicators, thoughtful negotiators, ethical leaders, and responsible global citizens. By fostering intellectual curiosity, leadership, and a spirit of international cooperation, the club equips students with the skills, confidence, and vision needed to address the challenges of the twenty-first century and contribute meaningfully to a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world.

Mental Well-Being Club
Creating Conversations, Building Connections
As a psychologist working with young people, one thing becomes evident very quickly: every student carries a story that others cannot see.
Behind achievements, smiles, friendships, and everyday interactions are experiences of self-doubt, pressure, loneliness, uncertainty, disappointment, hope, and resilience. While schools do an incredible job of nurturing academic growth, it is equally important to create spaces where emotional growth, self-awareness, and well-being are given the attention they deserve.
Mental health is often misunderstood as something that only becomes relevant when there is a crisis or a diagnosis. In reality, mental health is a part of being human. It influences how we cope with challenges, manage emotions, build relationships, make decisions, and understand ourselves. Every student has mental health, just as every student has physical health.
Today's adolescents are growing up in a rapidly changing world. They are more connected through technology than any generation before them, yet many struggle with feelings of isolation, comparison, pressure, and the need to constantly meet expectations. In a culture that often celebrates performance, productivity, and perfection, young people sometimes learn to hide their struggles rather than express them.
The Mental Well-being Club was created with the belief that conversations have the power to change this.
By creating opportunities for dialogue, reflection, awareness, and peer engagement, we hope to foster a community where students feel comfortable discussing emotions, seeking support, and understanding themselves and others with greater empathy. The aim is not to have all the answers, but to create a space where questions, experiences, and feelings can be explored without judgment.
An important aspect of mental health awareness is recognizing that support comes in many forms. Friends, teachers, and family members can offer understanding and encouragement, but they are not mental health professionals. Knowing when to reach out to a counsellor, psychologist, or another trusted professional is an important part of taking care of oneself. Seeking help is not a sign that something is wrong; it is often a sign of insight, courage, and self-respect.
At its heart, this club is about normalizing conversations that are often left unspoken. It is about replacing stigma with understanding, assumptions with empathy, and silence with connection. Most importantly, it is about reminding every student that they do not have to navigate life's challenges alone.
Because well-being begins when we feel seen. Healing begins when we feel heard. And meaningful change begins when we create conversations and build connections.
